We are seeking for a full-time Software Developer/Engineer to join MetaMind Innovations P.C. in our Research & Development department in Kozani, Greece or in our Business Development department in Thessaloniki, Greece. MetaMind Innovations P.C is the first spin-off company of the University of Western Macedonia playing a pivotal role in the region of Western Macedonia and in northern Greece. As a Software Developer/Engineer, you will join either the Research & Development department in Kozani, Greece or the Business Development department in Thessaloniki, Greece. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software solutions using the Angular and Django framework. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement technical requirements, write efficient code, and ensure the reliability and performance of applications. You will be expected to work under guidance, contribute to team efforts, and follow best practices in coding and testing to support the success of our projects. You will participate in national and EU-funded projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications using Angular for the frontend and Django for the backend, ensuring functionality and performance.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Write clean, maintainable, and documented code, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to maintain code quality.
- Debug and resolve technical issues across the stack under guidance.
- Contribute to team discussions and follow established development processes to enhance product quality.
- Participate in national and EU-funded projects by communicating with the Research & Development (R&D) team, while reporting to the R&D Project Manager.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- 1+ years of professional experience in software development.
- Basic understanding of software engineering principles, including object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
- Basic understanding of Linux and familiarity with Docker for containerization.
- Fluent communication skills in Greek and English language.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively and follow engineering solutions provided by senior team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in software development with experience in Angular and Django frameworks.
- MSc degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with TypeScript, Angular, Python, Django, and Celery, with basic experience in HTML, CSS, and RESTful API integration.
- Interest in IoT technologies or AI/ML applications.
- Basic experience with DevOps practices, such as CI/CD pipelines or cloud platforms.
- Enthusiasm and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
