MetaMind Innovations (MINDS) participated in the 2nd IEEE International Conference on Cyber Humanities (IEEE CH 2026)<\/strong><\/a>, held on 7-9 September 2026 in Venice, Italy<\/strong>, bringing together researchers and professionals working across technology, Social Sciences and Humanities. MINDS also supported this year’s conference as a Gold Sponsor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During the conference, MINDS contributed to discussions around Artificial Intelligence, privacy and digital technologies, while also participating in the 2nd IEEE CH Workshop on Green Trustworthy AI for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage (RAIDO-GTAI)<\/strong><\/em><\/a>. The workshop focused on the role of Green and Trustworthy AI in digital humanities and cultural heritage, including topics such as energy-efficient AI, explainability, privacy and synthetic data generation.<\/p>\n

MINDS at the RAIDO-GTAI Workshop<\/h3>\n

Nikolaos Ntampakis<\/a><\/em> from MetaMind Innovations<\/strong> contributed to the RAIDO-GTAI Workshop as Program Chair<\/strong> and member of its Technical Program Committee.<\/p>\n

The workshop also provided the opportunity to present research developed in the context of the Horizon Europe RAIDO project<\/strong>, bringing together approaches for Green and Trustworthy AI with applications in digital humanities and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

“EnrichTS+: Pioneering Federated GAN-based Distillation for Privacy-Preserving Synthesis of Univariate Time Series”<\/strong><\/p>\n

The work was developed by researchers from MetaMind Innovations, IIT Kharagpur<\/a>, TCS Europe<\/a>, Kingston University<\/a>, Democritus University of Thrace<\/a>, Hellenic Mediterranean University<\/a>, Adrestia R&D<\/a> and the University of Western Macedonia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Best Research Paper Award for EnrichTS+<\/h3>\n

A key highlight of the conference was the recognition of EnrichTS+ with the Best Research Paper Award at IEEE CH 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The award-winning paper was authored by Georgios Tsiamitas, George Tziolas, Nikolaos Ntampakis, Sudip Misra, Prolay Mallick, Rajdeep Ghosh, Kumarjit Ray, Gohar Sargsyan, Vasileios Argyriou, Thomas Lagkas, Evangelos Markakis, Albertos Markakis, Kalliopi Lapidaki, Petros Papadopoulos<\/em> and Panagiotis Sarigiannidis<\/em>.<\/p>\n

EnrichTS+ introduces a federated GAN-based approach for generating synthetic time-series data while keeping raw measurements private. In the study, multiple clients can contribute to a shared learning process without exchanging their original data. The resulting knowledge is then used to generate a compact synthetic dataset that captures important patterns from the original data without containing the raw measurements.<\/p>\n

The approach was evaluated through a cultural heritage monitoring case study<\/strong>, using relative humidity data from two different heritage locations. This provides a practical example of how privacy-preserving AI can support distributed monitoring environments where sharing original data may not be possible or desirable.<\/p>\n

The presentation also included an end-to-end demonstration of EnrichTS+<\/strong>, covering the process from federated model training and GAN-based distillation to synthetic time-series generation and independent evaluation.<\/p>\n

Supporting Green and Trustworthy AI Research<\/h3>\n

MINDS’ participation in IEEE CH 2026 reflects its continued involvement in European research and innovation activities around Trustworthy AI, privacy-preserving technologies and sustainable digital solutions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Through its contribution to RAIDO<\/strong><\/a> project and the research presented at the RAIDO-GTAI Workshop, MINDS continues to work with research and technology partners on approaches that make AI systems more trustworthy, efficient and suitable for real-world applications.<\/p>\n
