The HIVE project aims to improve the delivery of integrated healthcare services for people living with HIV (PLWH), addressing the growing challenge of managing HIV alongside noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). In many regions, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, healthcare systems face significant difficulties in providing coordinated and continuous care for patients with multiple long-term conditions. HIVE tackles this challenge by promoting a holistic approach that combines medical care, digital health solutions, and psychosocial support.

At the core of the project lies a mobile health (mHealth) application designed to support the self-management of multiple conditions. Building on an existing digital health tool, the application will be further developed and adapted to meet the needs of diverse populations across both high- and low-income settings, including Greece, Kazakhstan, Kenya, and Malta. In parallel, HIVE integrates interpersonal counselling (IPC) to provide essential psychosocial support, strengthening patient engagement and improving overall health outcomes. The project also promotes the integration of NCD care within HIV clinical pathways, enabling more coordinated, patient-centred services. By combining digital innovation with integrated care practices, HIVE aims to reduce health disparities and improve access to quality healthcare for vulnerable populations, contributing to more equitable and resilient health systems across different regions.
