MetaMind Innovations at BEYOND Expo 2026: Showcasing AI, Cybersecurity and VR Technologies

MetaMind Innovations (MINDS) participated in BEYOND Expo 2026, held in Athens from 18 to 20 June 2026, showcasing its work in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Virtual Reality and Digital Innovation.

As the first spin-off company of the University of Western Macedonia, MINDS participated at the Region of Western Macedonia Pavilion, where visitors had the opportunity to explore its technologies, interact with the team and learn more about its involvement in European research and innovation projects.

During the three-day event, MINDS presented activities and technologies from three EU-funded projects — EVOSST, RAIDO and NERO — covering areas ranging from immersive training and trustworthy AI to data-efficient technologies and cybersecurity for European SMEs.

 

EVOSST: Immersive Training for the Green Transition

As part of MINDS’ presence at BEYOND Expo 2026, visitors had the opportunity to experience the EVOSST Virtual Reality training environment, developed to explore how immersive technologies can support technical training and workforce reskilling.

The demonstration featured a training scenario for photovoltaic panel installation technicians. Using the VR environment, participants could familiarise themselves with installation tools and components, understand assembly procedures and practise task sequences in a safe and controlled virtual setting before moving to real-world installations.

The demonstration provided a practical example of how Virtual Reality can support vocational education and professional training by helping reduce training risks, support skills development and make the learning process more engaging.

Visitors were able to try the application directly at the MINDS booth, opening discussions around the use of immersive technologies in education, workforce development and the wider green transition.

RAIDO: Data-Efficient and Trustworthy AI

MINDS also showcased technologies developed within the RAIDO project, presenting practical approaches to data-efficient, privacy-aware and trustworthy Artificial Intelligence.

A key part of the presentation was the Image & Timeseries FDM Tool, which supports the creation of data-efficient datasets while preserving their predictive value. The approach also enables participating nodes to benefit from shared learning processes without exchanging their raw local data.

By reducing the amount of data required while maintaining its predictive value, the approach can help lower computational demands and contribute to more efficient and sustainable AI systems.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore the technology at the MINDS booth and discuss how data optimisation and privacy-aware collaboration can support the development of reliable and resource-efficient AI solutions.

NERO: Strengthening Cybersecurity for European SMEs

The NERO project was also presented at the MINDS booth, giving visitors the opportunity to learn more about its work to strengthen the cybersecurity awareness, preparedness and resilience of European SMEs.

Through the project material available at the booth, visitors were introduced to the NERO Ecosystem and its three use cases in healthcare, transportation and logistics, and finance, where project technologies are being validated against sector-specific cybersecurity needs.

As part of the project, MINDS contributes through M-RADAR and M-HaaS (Honeypot as a Service), supporting activities related to network monitoring, threat and anomaly detection, malicious activity analysis and the validation of cybersecurity solutions.

BEYOND Expo 2026 provided an opportunity to introduce NERO’s work to visitors and discuss how cybersecurity technologies can support more secure and resilient organisations across critical sectors.
