We are seeking for a full-time Research and Development (R&D) Project Manager to join MetaMind Innovations P.C. MetaMind Innovations P.C is the first spin-off company of the University of Western Macedonia playing a pivotal role in the region of Western Macedonia and in northern Greece. As a Research and Development Project Manager, you will join either the Research and Development department in Kozani, Greece or the Business Development department in Thessaloniki, Greece. You will manage, supervise and deliver R&D and Research and Innovation (R&I) projects, by representing the company, leading the technical and non-technical work and coordinating the working teams. You will mainly work on Digital Europe Programme projects on AI-driven cybersecurity and automated regulatory compliance, in which MetaMind Innovations P.C. acts as task leader and technology developer. Beyond delivering high-quality project deliverables in time, based on the Grant Agreements, you will lead the projects work packages and tasks by designing, coordinating and contributing to the technical and non-technical content, while organizing design plans, requirements, system architecture, KPIs, team working plan, risk management plans and use case, pilot and demonstration scenarios. In addition, you will prepare and deliver technical and financial reports in compliance with EU regulations and standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage R&D and R&I projects by representing the company to the consortia.
- Manage, lead and oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality project deliverables, milestones and objectives.
- Manage, supervise and lead work packages, tasks, technical and non-technical deliverables based on the Grant Agreements.
- Coordinate or/and participate in team, consortia, workshop, plenary, review, conference and demonstration meetings.
- Assist the definition of the technical and non-technical requirements and specifications, while ensuring technical and financial/resource feasibility.
- Contribute to end-user requirements elicitation (e.g., CSIRTs, Cyber Hubs, NIS2 entities), AI threat analysis and system architecture design.
- Coordinate the development, integration (CI/CD) and deployment of AI-driven cybersecurity and compliance monitoring solutions
- Oversee AI risk assessments and trustworthy AI activities, such as AI Act risk classification, explainability and documentation supporting the certification of AI components.
- Lead the team in day-to-day operations and project activities.
- Establish effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
- Contribute to the editing of scientific papers, white papers and publications related to the project achievements and goals, as well as to exploitation and IPR activities.
- Prepare and contribute to technical and financial EU-based reporting.
- Preparation, support, and participation in technical, plenary and EU review meetings.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and M.Sc. in computer science/engineering or other related fields.
- 2 years of experience in project management and team coordination.
- Good understanding of AI/ML and cybersecurity concepts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English language.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Team collaboration and excellent organization skills.
- Ability to discuss, negotiate and work in international environment.
- Experience in delivering technical and financial reports.
- Ability to travel abroad when required.
- Self-motivated, positive attitude and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in scientific or engineering field, preferably in computer science, electrical engineering or ICT.
- Project management professional certification.
- Proven experience in working as technical manager/coordinator or/and project manager/coordinator in EU-funded R&D/R&I projects.
- Experience in requirements engineering, system architecture design and KPI-based pilot validation.
